Thank you for your interest in receiving free medical equipment from Mobility Aids Lending Library in Bloomington, IN. Here’s what you need to know before submitting your request.
Our Organization and Availability
We are a small, volunteer-based organization. We do not have our own building; currently, we partner with the Monroe County Public Library for small items and rent a crowded room in a church basement to store large items. We try to respond promptly, but sometimes, it may take us a few days to get back to you. If you need a mobility aid for a specific event, please contact us as far in advance as possible.
Service Area and Delivery Policy
MALL primarily serves clients in the Bloomington, Indiana metro area. All Indiana residents and visitors are welcome to pick up or donate equipment at our storage location in downtown Bloomington.
We can only deliver large items that will not fit in a standard vehicle (such as power wheelchairs) to Monroe, Owen, Lawrence, Greene, Brown, and Morgan County, subject to volunteer availability. Due to time and gas costs, we cannot deliver outside these counties.
Equipment Check-Out and Return
There are no due dates for equipment. Keep it as long as you need it! But if you don’t need it anymore, please contact us to return it so we can give it to someone else in need. Reselling mobility aids you received from us is strictly prohibited.
You can pick up items yourself, or send a friend or relative. Medical and social service professionals are also welcome to pick up equipment for clients.
You’ll need to sign a liability waiver to receive a mobility aid. All items are provided as is. You are responsible for the cost of any repairs or parts.
All equipment is FREE! Of course, we love donations if you’re able — we’ll use the funds to refurbish items and help more people.
