Being able to borrow a wheelchair for two months from MALL was a lifesaver for me. I had my pelvis broken and my surgeon was very strict on no weight bearing, but insurance deemed a wheelchair wasn’t necessary, that a walker was plenty – newsflash, it never would have been enough for me! Having a wheelchair made it possible for me to still leave my house safely during the time I could not bear any weight on my leg, I could still enjoy the beautiful fall weather in Bloomington! MALL provided me not only a wheelchair but a lifeline, happiness, and possibility.
